Summary from Goodreads

On a warm summer morning in North Carthage, Missouri, it is Nick and Amy Dunne’s fifth wedding anniversary. Presents are being wrapped and reservations are being made when Nick’s clever and beautiful wife disappears from their rented McMansion on the Mississippi River. Husband-of-the-Year Nick isn’t doing himself any favors with cringe-worthy daydreams about the slope and shape of his wife’s head, but passages from Amy's diary reveal the alpha-girl perfectionist could have put anyone dangerously on edge. Under mounting pressure from the police and the media—as well as Amy’s fiercely doting parents—the town golden boy parades an endless series of lies, deceits, and inappropriate behavior. Nick is oddly evasive, and he’s definitely bitter—but is he really a killer?

As the cops close in, every couple in town is soon wondering how well they know the one that they love. With his twin sister, Margo, at his side, Nick stands by his innocence. Trouble is, if Nick didn’t do it, where is that beautiful wife? And what was in that silvery gift box hidden in the back of her bedroom closet?

With her razor-sharp writing and trademark psychological insight, Gillian Flynn delivers a fast-paced, devilishly dark, and ingeniously plotted thriller that confirms her status as one of the hottest writers around.

Oh.  My god.  What do I say?  This book was *bleeping* TWISTED!
I don't know about anyone else but the first couple chapters getting into it was confusing.  I hate how air headed I am.

I'm not going to give out any spoilers so no worries!  But it took me forever to read.  It probably took me about a month and a half... I just couldn't get through it.  But I knew, I HAD to finish it.  I needed to know what happened.  When I heard of this thriller novel I thought, "Oh this'll be a breeze."  It was the opposite for me. I'm so used to reading all these trashy, easy, fast books lately and I felt like I hit a brick wall with this one.

Then again, it was a great book.  I like how Flynn broke down the characters stories.  I knew what was going on in more than one of their heads which at times..  Creeped.  Me.  Out.
The last half was definitely a lot better than the first half.

Just a warning:  If you get offended easily (especially when a man talks disrespectfully about women) then you probably wont enjoy it!

If they made Gone Girl into a movie, I'm pretty sure it would be one of those that's better than the book!
I would definitely go see it just to see how the crazyness of it all would come out on screen.
